Anu Yadav
Theatre-based educator and performer

Anu YadavAnu Yadav is a writer, actor and theater-based educator in Washington, DC. and talented playwright and performer of "Capers," a play developed with and based on the stories of families who protested the government-funded relocation and demolition of their neighborhood.

A graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Yadav was a 2000-2001 Thomas J. Watson Fellow, during which she studied theatre towards social change in Brazil, India and South Africa.

Yadav is a member of Friends and Residents of Arthur Capper/Carrollsburg, and the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign. She is the winner of the 2006 Mayor's Arts Award for Outstanding Emerging Artist.

Pushing past the boundaries of theater, documentary and activism, 'Capers is a one-woman show based on the stories of families at the Arthur Capper/Carrollsburg public housing projects - also known as 'Capers - in southeast DC who protested the government-funded relocation and demolition of their neighborhood.
